Bright Wednesday
Acts 2:22-36; Jn. 1:35-51
Based upon the Holy Scripture, our mind can prove the truth of the Resurrection by logical reasoning, and a non-believer will have to admit these arguments, as long as the sense of truth is still alive in him. But a believer needs no logical proofs, since the Holy Church is permeated with the radiance of the Resurrection.
Both of these kinds of evidence for the truth are valid and convincing; but logical reasoning could be opposed by counter-reasoning, while the immediate faith could be tempted and shaken by misgivings and doubts, coming from outside and inside. Is there an invincible defense for the truth of the Resurrection? Yes, there is. It will come in effect when the power of Resurrection, which you received in your Baptism, begins to purge you from corruption, to infuse new life into your soul and body. Then you will constantly abide in the radiance of the Resurrection, and anyone arguing against it will seem to you insane, like someone calling light darkness.
