2Cor. 5:10-15; Mk. 1:9-15
The Lord begins his appeal to the people as follows: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” [Mk. 1:15]. At the end He will say, likewise: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand”, ─ however, instead of adding “repent and believe” He will proclaim: “Come out for the Judgment!” The time of repentance and self-perfection will then be over, and everyone will be required to give an account for all their actions in this life, both good and evil.
So, while there is time, let us use it for our salvation. The Father’s embrace is open for all those who come to Him with sincere repentance for his past sins and offences, with sincere desire to work for God by diligently following His holy commandments.
Everyone will encounter the end of time: that is our imminent death. Our death is the exit door into the future life. Glance at this door ever so often, check for yourself: what’s behind it? ─ and get to work of preparing yourself to passing through, into the realm of the eternal bliss, cutting off anything which might hinder this passage, anything which makes us vulnerable to the forces of darkness seeking to drag us into a place of no return.
