The Kirov city administration has issued a permit for the construction of the Feodorovskaya Church. Construction will begin in February 2025.
The church on the Green Embankment burned down on January 25, 2023. After the fire, the governor of the Kirov region announced that the church would be restored or rebuilt, and the Vyatka Diocese announced fundraising for the church's revival.
Prayer services were regularly held at the site of the burnt-out church. In April 2024, it was decided to build the Feodorovsky Temple, an exact replica of the shrine lost in 1962, and in November information appeared about the completion of work on the design of the temple.
The Church of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God was built in 1913-1915 in honor of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov. In 1929, the temple was closed by the Soviet authorities and converted into a dormitory. In 1946, it was returned to the Church, but in 1962 it was closed during Khrushchev's anti-religious campaign. In October 1962, by order of the city executive committee, the temple was blown up. In 2007, a wooden replica of the Vladimir Church was built on the site of the destroyed temple in the residence of the President of Russia on Valdai. It burned down on January 25, 2023. On April 8, 2023, a Cross of Worship was erected on the old foundation of the burnt-out church.
