On the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, on September 27, 2023, a procession was held at St. Seraphim's Monastery on Russian Island.
After the festive Divine Liturgy, the brothers of the monastery, parishioners and pilgrims who arrived at the monastery walked from the monastery church to the top of the hill on the Babkina Peninsula, which is 2.6 km. A new Cross of Worship was consecrated and installed on the top of the peninsula.

The first cross on this site was erected in 2003 in memory of the 100th anniversary of the appearance of the Port Arthur Icon of the Mother of God. The brothers of the monastery, military personnel of the Russian Island units, representatives of Orthodox public organizations participated in that event. In August 2023, an old dilapidated cross broke during a typhoon. The new cross with a height of 4 meters was made of wood in the St. Seraphim Monastery.

Students of the Far Eastern Fire and Rescue Academy of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Island helped to install a new cross.
In total, about eighty people participated in the event.
