Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, who is on an archpastoral visit to the Ural diocese, visited a convent in honor of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
In the cathedral church of the monastery, Metropolitan Vladyka and the archpastors were met by: abbess of the Feodorovsky monastery Abbess Varvara (Morozova) with the inhabitants; clergy of the temples of the city of Uralsk; parishioners and pilgrims.
Metropolitan Alexander glorified Theodore's image of the Heavenly Queen and bowed to the shrines, after which he addressed the audience with the words of a sermon. The head of the Metropolitan District called the Mother Superior and the sisters of the monastery to fervent prayers for the gift of God's help and the mercy of the Most Holy Theotokos to the new archpastor of the Ural land - Bishop Vianor.
The president of the public foundation "Apostol" Georgy Gennadievich Sosnovsky donated to the monastery the image of the Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Kazakhstan. Georgy Gennadievich noted that the icon is being donated to the monastery as part of an action that the "Apostle", with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander, is carrying out this year. As the head of the foundation said, icons of the sufferers for Christ who shone on the Kazakh land are presented to the churches of the Metropolitan District in memory of two historical dates – the 20th anniversary of the formation of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and the 15th anniversary of the All-Church glorification of the Cathedral of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Kazakhstan. The presented image was made by the masters of the Palekh icon painting workshop Anesty icon under the guidance of Evgenia Tenina.
In front of the icon, hierarchs, clergy, monastics and believers sang greatness to the New martyrs and confessors.
