On February 24, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, who is on a visit to India, met with the Supreme Archbishop of Ernakulam and Angamala, Mar Rafael Tattil, who was elected Primate of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church on January 9, 2024.
On the same day, the DECR Chairman took part in a reception in honor of the Supreme Archbishop Mar Rafael Tattil, which was given by His Holiness Catholicos of Malankara Basil Mar Thomas Matthew III at the Patriarchal and Synodal Residence of the Church of India in Kottayam.
The reception was also attended by members of the Holy Synod of the Malankara Church and accompanying Metropolitan Anthony during his visit to India, DECR Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov) and Secretary of the DECR Chairman Deacon Nikolai Vasin.
