Representatives of the female monasticism of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church — the nun of the Virgin of Bethlehem Convent, nun Dina and nun Sheba, who have been living in the Vvedenskiy Tolga Convent for two months, visited the shrines of the city of Yaroslavl.
The sisters were guided by Hieromonk Agafangel (Shkurankov), rector of the Ascension and Annunciation Church of Yaroslavl. The guests visited the Assumption Cathedral, where they prayed at the relics of the blessed Princes Theodore, David and Constantine; the former Yaroslavl Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery; Kazan Convent, where they prayed at the relics of St. Agafangel and the revered Kazan Icon of the Mother of God; Theodorovsky Cathedral and the Ascension and Annunciation Church.
The purpose of the visit is to study the monastic experience of the Russian Orthodox Church and its further use in Indian monasteries. The project is being implemented within the framework of the work of the Working Group on the Development of Bilateral Relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Malankara Church of India.
