On September 15, 2023, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia arrived on a Primatial visit to the Peter and Paul Diocese, which unites parishes and monasteries within the Kamchatka Territory.
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church is accompanied by Metropolitan Dionysius of the Resurrection, Managing Director of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archimandrite Alexy (Turikov), Personal secretary of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, and N.I. Derzhavin, Deputy head of the Press Service of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill arrived at the Yelizovo International Airport in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
A traditional loaf with bread and salt was presented to His Holiness by a representative of the Kamchatka Cossacks, a girl in a Russian national costume and a representative of the indigenous peoples of Kamchatka in a Koryak national costume.
His Holiness was met by the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory V.V. Solodov, Archbishop Feodor of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, Secretary of the diocesan administration Hieromonk Mikhail (Malakhanov), clergy of the Petropavlovsk diocese.
On September 16, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill will visit Vilyuchinsk, where he will perform the rite of the minor consecration of the newly built St. Andrew's garrison Church, on September 17, the Primate of the Russian Church will consecrate the Kamchatka Naval Cathedral in honor of the Archangel Michael of God in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
