On National Unity Day, November 4, 2024, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin laid flowers at the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky on Red Square in Moscow.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia took part in the traditional solemn ceremony.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of traditional religious denominations of Russia, members of public and youth organizations, including the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, the Committee of Families of Soldiers of the Fatherland, the Association of Veterans of the SVO, the All-Russian Popular Front, the Unarmia movement, the Vimpel Center, the Search Movement of Russia, the Movement community the first ones." National Unity Day, celebrated in Russia on November 4, was established in memory of the liberation of Moscow from foreign invaders in 1612 by the people's militia led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky.
