On March 10, 2026, Irina Khudyakova, an employee of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, held a working meeting with Bishop Savva of Valuysky and Alekseevsky in Valuyki, Belgorod region. The main topic was the discussion of the needs of residents of the border territories and the transfer of humanitarian cargo.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the most pressing problems faced by people in the border area. Special attention was paid to the issues of targeted assistance to the most vulnerable categories of citizens — large families, the disabled and single elderly people. The meeting participants worked out mechanisms for effective interaction with the local administration to promptly solve the problems of those in need.
Representatives of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission delivered cargo to the diocese to support residents and parishes of border villages. The transferred aid included four generators and 25 walkie-talkies. The humanitarian cargo will be distributed among the parishes and residents of the border areas in the area of special attention. The transferred equipment is designed to help both in everyday life and in case of emergency situations related to communication disruptions.
"The situation in the Belgorod Region continues to be extremely tense," Deacon Igor Kulikov, director of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, commented on the situation. — 12 of our volunteers are currently working on shift. Continuing to provide assistance to lonely people in Belgorod itself, one of the main priorities for us now is assistance in border settlements."
