On the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, the day of memory of St. Pimen Ugreshsky, on August 30, 2024, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Patriarchal Vicar of the Moscow Metropolis, Metropolitan Pavel Krutitsky and Kolomna, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Transfiguration Cathedral of the Nikolo-Ugreshsky Stavropol Monastery. On this day, the 25th anniversary of the Nikolo-Ugresh Theological Seminary was celebrated.
His Eminence was co-served by the vicar of the monastery, Bishop Methodius of Yegoryevsky, Acting rector of the Nikolo-Ugresh Theological Seminary, Hieromonk Luke (Pronsky), dean of the Lyubertsy district of the Podolsk diocese, Priest Vyacheslav Novak, teachers of the seminary in holy orders, the clergy of the monastery.
At the end of the Liturgy, the glorification was performed.
Then Metropolitan Pavel read out his Patriarchal congratulations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Nikolo-Ugresh Theological Seminary and addressed the faithful with an archpastoral address.
In particular, His Holiness the Patriarch's congratulation reads: "For a quarter of a century of the existence of this theological school, many good workers in the field of Christ were brought up here. "This is all my heart," said the blessed Prince Dimitri Donskoy at the site of the future monastery more than six centuries ago, when the icon of St. Nicholas appeared to him. I am convinced that the same warm feelings overwhelm the souls of teachers and students who have and have had the opportunity at the Ugresh theological school to quench their thirst for knowledge of theological sciences and ignite their love for works for the benefit of the church.
I would like to address special words of edification to the current students — future pastors. The Lord has chosen you for the highest service on earth, for the proper performance of which you will have to answer to Him. Therefore, never stop there, be persistent and constant both in teaching and in spiritual work, remembering the words of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk: "What you will learn with God's help, teach others with love on occasion, so that the seed sown grows and creates fruit worthy of the Heavenly Kingdom" (Reflections and comments from the texts. Reflection XVII).
Through the prayerful intercession of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Pimen Ugreshsky, may the Almighty give you the strength of bodily and mental strength and His generous help in your labors in the field of theological education and on the path of salvation."
In connection with the celebrated date, Bishop Pavel presented Patriarchal awards to representatives of the administration and teachers of the theological school.
