On Saturday, December 9, a fire broke out in the St. Nicholas Church of the Oshevensky monastery. It is located in the village of Pogost in the Kargopolsky district. It is known that the church was active: regular divine services were held in it.
A monk reported about a fire in a monastery of the XIX century at about 9 a.m. Two minutes later, the firefighters were on the spot. Gorenje was observed burning most of the roof area, the fire was also coming from the windows.
Additional units of the GPS and GZ Agency went to the scene of the incident. In total, more than a dozen firefighters participated in the fight against the fire on five tankers and one truck ladder.
By 11:52 a.m., the fire was extinguished. There are no casualties. The building was significantly damaged by fire. The cause of the fire is being determined.
