Over the weekend, central streets of the city of Berdyansk, located on the coast of the Azov Sea, were flooded due to a storm. The water damaged coastal structures for recreation, inundated homes near the sea, affecting residents whose properties were flooded. People are now pumping water from their homes, and gardens are covered with sand and algae. Many trees have fallen, causing power outages. This information was reported by miloserdie.ru.

Due to the natural disaster, a day off was declared, but the distribution of aid to refugees and those affected by hostilities did not cease. People are receiving medicines, clothing, food, crutches, heaters, and assistance in purchasing expensive medications and equipment for caring for bedridden patients. The Berdyansk Diocese stated that humanitarian aid collected by believers from Armavir was successfully delivered to the city during the flooding.

"Thanks to the support of the Synodal Department for Charity, the Bronnitsy, Armavir, Yekaterinburg, and Rostov dioceses, we have everything necessary to provide assistance. Our hotline is active at +7(990)-090-1331, and we are ready to help those affected by the flooding," said Elena Malinovskaya, assistant to the head of the Social Service Department of the Berdyansk Diocese.

As of now, wind gusts have weakened, and wave heights have decreased, as reported by TASS. There are no reports of casualties, and two adults and two children have been rescued from the flooded areas of the city.
