On May 16, 2026, a religious procession was held in Minsk in support of the family institute, which was held within the framework of the republican family forum and the Family — Unity of Faith and Love festival.
The procession began from the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, was held with a prayer for well-being, peace and mutual understanding in Belarusian families and ended at the Holy Spirit Cathedral. The prayer procession took place with the removal of the icon of the Mother of God "Mammalian", the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Ephesus" with images of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky and his wife Princess Alexandra Bryachislavovna of Polotsk, fragments of the relics of the patron saints of the family of Peter and Fevronia of Murom, fragments of the relics of St. Sophia of Slutsk and other shrines.
Upon the arrival of the procession to the Holy Spirit Cathedral, a festive prayer service was held on the square near the temple. The service was led by Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, and was co-served by the cathedral's clergy and guests in holy orders.
At the end of the prayer service, the Patriarchal Exarch addressed the participants of the prayer procession with an archpastoral address.
On the same day, a family festival was held in the Upper Town. The central area near the Minsk City Hall became the venue for a concert program, workshops for children, areas of joint creativity, as well as presentations of existing family assistance programs, social programs and projects of the parishes of the Minsk Diocese.
