It contains chronologically and logically interconnected fragments of the memoirs of Metropolitan Filaret himself, his family and friends, excerpts from interviews, articles, speeches and numerous photographs. All this material creates a voluminous and vivid picture of the life of an amazing person.
Metropolitan Filaret's relatives and close friends took part in the creation of the book, ready to share their memories, family stories and facts that could have remained unknown without their participation.
The publication uses photographs from the archive of the Minsk Diocesan Administration, the Vakhromeev family archive and open sources on the Internet as illustrations.
The commemorative events continued with the traditional awarding of diplomas to the laureates of the first Metropolitan Filaret (Vakhromeev) Award. The award was established by the Belarusian Orthodox Church in 2022 to perpetuate the memory of the first Patriarchal exarch of all Belarus. The aim of the award is to deepen understanding of the spiritual and historical significance of Metropolitan Filaret's personality for Belarus, as well as to draw attention to his theological and literary heritage.
In the lobby and reading room of the library of the Minsk Theological Academy, the audience was presented with a photo exhibition "Metropolitan Filaret: Life and Ministry", as well as exhibitions of books "To the Most Kind Prelate of the Church of God" and "Life on the Path of Truth".
The title of the photo exhibition "Metropolitan Filaret: Life and Ministry" contains the words of the Psalmist David, which the archpastor himself liked to repeat at celebrations dedicated to his personal anniversaries: "Not to us, Lord, not to us, but give glory to Your name" (Ps. 113).
