On March 14, 2025, the city of Dzhankoy in the Republic of Crimea was attacked by the armed forces of Ukraine.
In a report addressed to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Bishop Alexy of Dzhankoy and Razdolnensky said that "a civilian facility in the central part of the city, across the street from the Pokrovsky Cathedral, became the target of an enemy drone attack."
Two women passing by were injured, one of whom is in serious condition in the hospital. Residential buildings were damaged by the explosion, as well as the Pokrovsky Cathedral — glass was broken in the doors and windows of the temple, plaster crumbled.
"By the grace of God, not a single person who was on the territory of the temple complex was injured, although the entire courtyard of the cathedral was strewn with fragments and striking elements (metal balls)," Bishop Alexy said in a report.
The ruling bishop, clergy, monastics and laity of the Dzhankoy diocese pray for the speedy recovery of the victims of the terrorist attack.
