The grand opening of the exhibition took place on April 17 at the city Museum of Local History. The exhibition tells about a tragic page in Soviet history through the biographies of people of the Russian Orthodox Church who went through the hardest trials in the first years after the October Revolution.
The organizers of the Russian Golgotha exhibition decided to fulfill an important and honorable mission of restoring historical justice, telling about the believers who died during the period of repression.
"The history of Russia, our great country, is not only about achievements and exploits. And we must accept it for what it is. And the children who will come to the exhibition will then share their impressions of what they saw with their parents and grandparents. And this will be the knowledge of the history of our state, the development of the nation," said the head of the district, Yuri Elm, who opened the exhibition.
The Russian Golgotha is the beginning of work on the creation of the All—Russian memorial museum of heroism and confessionalism in the twentieth century. It will be created on the territory of the former NKVD special zone "Butovo" near Moscow. Residents and guests of our city will be able to get acquainted with the unique exhibition at the museum until May 15.
