On Christmas Day, Archpriest Sergiy Rezukhin, Chairman of the Department of Charity and Social Service of the Tula Diocese, paid a pastoral visit to the military clinical hospital.
Together with Nina Zelenskaya, senior sister of Mercy of the Tula Sisterhood of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women at the All Saints Cathedral, Father Sergius congratulated the military on the bright feast of the coming of the Savior into the world.
The guests toured all the departments of the hospital, sang a Christmas troparion and presented each soldier with a sweet treat. The hospital's patients greeted the visitors with smiles, and one fighter performed a Christmas carol with Father Sergius.
"We are very grateful to the hospital management for the opportunity to congratulate our defenders on the bright feast of the coming of the Blessed Sacrament of Christ and to thank them for their difficult feat of arms," Father Sergius said. – We all support our soldiers and pray for their speedy recovery. The defenders met us very well, this time we also brought crosses and distributed them to those who needed them."
Sharing their joy at the birth of the Savior, the guests talked with the fighters and found out that some of them needed confession and communion. Also, the patients of the hospital expressed their desire to meet with the priest again on the feast of Epiphany.
