A bell classroom was specially equipped for teaching military children in the Church of the Archangel Gabriel, located in the 32nd military town of Yekaterinburg. Here schoolchildren aged 7 to 14 years are taught the basics of bell ringing, get acquainted with the traditions of ringing and realize their wildest dreams together with such a wonderful church musical instrument – the bell. The course for novice bell ringers became possible thanks to the funds of the Presidential Grants Fund allocated for the project.

– Thank God, it turns out to implement the project. Within six months, 30 teenagers will be able to practice and learn the basics of bell ringing," said Priest Dimitri Bazhanov, head of the Ural Bell Center of the Yekaterinburg diocese. – The guys will be told what is the right sound production, what is the palette of sounds, what are the historical bells. During the course, they will be able to get in touch with the stories of the Russian Orthodox Church and with the general world culture. All the children who learn to ring will be able to participate in the bell ringing festivals and will be able to become active bell ringers in the bell towers of our city.

– Not only the children who attend our parish Sunday school responded, but also the students of music schools and schoolchildren interested in the theme of ringing, – said the project manager Svetlana Vladimirovna Keldyusheva. – We will not only study, but we will definitely go on an excursion to the bell foundry in Kamensk-Uralsky.
Experienced bell ringers and instructors of the Ural Bell Center help the children in their studies.

At the end of the course, the organizers plan to arrange a big graduation concert. In the club, young bell ringers will demonstrate their acquired skills in front of parents and relatives, residents of the military camp.
