In 2025, work is planned to begin in Vyborg, Leningrad region, to preserve St. Nicholas Church, built at the beginning of the 20th century. This temple is located on the territory of one of the port terminals, and it lacks a dome and a belfry.
According to the head of the Committee for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the region, Vladimir Tsoi, a factory laboratory was located in the church building during the Soviet years. The temple was built in an unusual style for the city.
The Vyborg Diocese expressed its willingness to become the owner of the monument and offered to carry out its restoration. The Committee for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage of the Leningrad Region and the administration of Vyborg supported this initiative.
First of all, the specialists will have to issue all the necessary documents for the property, since this object is in an unattended condition. Then emergency work will be carried out and a temporary roof will be equipped.
