Cultural volunteers planted tui near the ancient Bryansk church on the Day of Caring for Historical Monuments.
On the All-Russian Day of Care for historical and Cultural Monuments, an eco-tour "All roads lead us to the temple ..." was held on the territory of the Church of the Intercession in the village of Khokhlovka, Klimovsky district.
The temple is an object of cultural heritage of the Bryansk region, the regional Department of culture reported. The action was attended by volunteers of the district's culture and parishioners. Priest Vladimir Kovalev told activists that almost 140 years ago, a rural gathering of residents of Khokhlovka sent two peasants with a petition to Princess Dolgorukov in Velikaya Topal with a request to build a church. The Princess reacted favorably to the request. Soon after, 11 builders arrived from Chernigov, led by an architect, who, together with the rest of the villagers, built the Pokrovsky Temple in 1886.
After the tour, the participants of the action planted thuja and decorative evergreen shrubs on the territory of the temple. The meeting ended with a tea party.
