With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the Orthodox book exhibition and forum "Joy of the Word", organized by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Diocese of Norilsk, was officially opened in Norilsk on September 4, 2025.
The events were held at the Tower Social and Cultural Center in Norilsk. The opening ceremony of the forum and the plenary session of the conference were attended by Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, Chairman of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Nikita of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk, head of the Krasnoyarsk Metropolitanate, and Bishop Agafangel of Norilsk and Turukhansk.
Before the start of the forum, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Cathedral of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Grieve" in the city of Norilsk, which was celebrated by His Grace the bishops in the concelebration of the clergy of the Norilsk Diocese.
Before the opening ceremony, participants and guests viewed the book exhibition and photo exhibition "St. Tikhon", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the death of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of All Russia, which is celebrated in 2025. The source materials for the photo exhibition were prepared and provided by the Scientific and Educational Foundation for the Study of the Life and Ministry of St. Patriarch Tikhon and the Orthodox St. Tikhon University of the Humanities in Moscow.
A conference was held on the theme "Holy Russia, keep the Orthodox Faith." The conference was hosted by the leading specialist of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, Priest Andrey Stepanov.
At the conference, the hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church shared with the audience their thoughts on the memorable and jubilee dates celebrated in 2025: the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 100th anniversary of the death of St. Tikhon.
Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk noted the special role of the dissemination and publication of high-quality Orthodox fiction in the life of modern Russia.
The conference included a presentation of new books by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, published by the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate. The literature presentation was conducted by Deacon Nikolai Krechetov, a specialist at the office of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The presentation of the International Children's and Youth Literary Competition named after I.S. Shmelev "Summer of the Lord" and the All-Russian competition of meaningful reading for students of pedagogical disciplines "Reasonable, kind, eternal" took place at the Tower Social and Cultural Center in Norilsk.
