Patriarchal Sermon Before the Rite of Forgiveness at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior

On the evening of February 22, 2026, on Cheesefare Sunday, the commemoration of Adam’s expulsion (Forgiveness Sunday), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ prayed at Vespers and presided over the Rite of Forgiveness at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. After the dismissal of Vespers, His Holiness delivered a sermon.

Address of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill on the 17th Anniversary of His Enthronement Following the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior

On February 1, 2026, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. On this day, the 17th anniversary of His Holiness’s enthronement was commemorated. At the conclusion of the service, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church addressed the faithful gathered in the cathedral.

On January 29, 2026, a plenary session of the XIV Christmas Parliamentary Meetings entitled “Education and Morality: The Formation of the Individual and the Challenges of Our Time” was held at the Federation Council as part of the XXXIV International Christmas Educational Readings. The event was chaired by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, who delivered the keynote address.

Beloved in the Lord archpastors, all-honourable presbyters and deacons, God- loving monks and nuns, dear brothers and sisters:
Please accept my heartfelt congratulations to you all on the radiant feast day of the Nativity of Our Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ as I address you with the words of the ancient Christian hymn: “Christ is born, glorify him! Christ is come from heaven, receive him! Christ is on earth, be ye lifted up to him!” (Heirmos of the first Ode of the Nativity Canon).
