region on September 9, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Bryansk and Sevsk, head of the Department for Cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Bryansk region, rector of the church in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush" Priest John Vykhovanets and rector of the church in honor of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God in Alyoshinka village Priest Sergiy Tsybin We visited the military once again. At 6:00 a.m., they were already in one of the most remote points of the border area.
By prior agreement with the unit's command, the mobile firing group provided a meeting and escort for the priests to the frontline positions. Father John and Father Sergius visited the location of two platoons. The path between them ran through trenches and forest trails, becoming a serious physical challenge for the priests.
During the visit, the Sacrament of Baptism was performed by a serviceman who was very much waiting for the arrival of the clergy. After the prayer service and Confession, everyone took communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ. The priests also had personal conversations with the fighters.
As always, the volunteers of Alyoshinka village and the parishioners of St. Vladimir's Church did not leave the children without homemade food, handing over cutlets, pilaf, pizza, pies and other pastries. Parishioners of the church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Sokolovo and rector Priest Mikhail Melyukhin gathered fresh vegetables and fruits for the defenders. In addition, the military personnel were very pleased with the large range of dairy products from the Navlinsky Dairy plant. The guys sincerely thank the caring residents of Tallinn for their care.
The priests stayed in their positions longer than usual due to the full rite of Baptism. The return was complicated by the activity of enemy drones. To avoid being chased by a drone spotted over the highway, I had to accelerate to 170 km/h. Despite everything, the trip was a success, and the morale of the personnel improved markedly due to spiritual support and attention to their needs.
