On August 14, a solemn meeting of the All-Russian shrine, the Icon of the Mother of God "Tenderness", delivered from the Pskov Caves Monastery, took place in the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
The solemn meeting of the shrine was led by Archbishop Feodor of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, Bishop Makary of Nerchinsk and Krasnokamensk, and Bishop Mikhail of Yugorsk and Nyagan.
In front of the cathedral, the Shrine was greeted by an honor guard of marines of the 40th Guards Double Red Banner Brigade in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The icon was carried by soldiers of the 40th Marine Brigade, accompanied by clerics of the Kamchatka diocese.
Upon arrival of the shrine, the Head of the diocese, Archbishop Feodor of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, addressed the audience:
"By the grace of God, I am glad to welcome you all to the main church of Kamchatka, where we meet with you the All—Russian shrine - the image of the Most Holy Theotokos, which came to us from the distant Pskov Caves Monastery. This is an ancient image. The defenders of our Fatherland prayed before him in the early days of the formation of the Orthodox faith on this earth.… Of course, during these days everyone will pray for their earthly, daily needs, but first of all, I urge you to pray for our soldiers, who so need Divine help," said Bishop Theodore.
During the divine service, the abbess of the Holy Kazan Convent of the Kamchatka diocese prayed with the sisters of the monastery.
At the end of the Paraclesis, Bishop Michael and Bishop Macarius addressed the audience with words of greeting.
