Russian Russian Orthodox Church in Morocco, one of the first organizations of compatriots in that country, whose centenary will be celebrated in 2027, as well as the history of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Rabat, the oldest Russian church in Africa, built at the expense of members of the Orthodox community. Father Maxim spoke about the history of the Russian Orthodox Church in Morocco. In his speech, the priest touched upon the activities of the parish to preserve the memory of the Russian presence in Morocco and to identify the names of Orthodox compatriots who have found their rest in Moroccan cemeteries.
Russian Russians in the Maghreb: Memory and Legacy, the authors of the project, accompanied by the Director of the Russian House in the capital of Morocco, V.P. Sokolov, and Archpriest Maxim Massalitin, visited the Church of the Resurrection and Christian cemeteries in Rabat and Casablanca on October 2. The delegation also visited the Assumption Church in Casablanca, the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa reports, with reference to the telegram channel of the Russian House in Rabat.
