On the bright feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Archpriest Georgy Ivashchuk, rector of the Church of the Archangel Gabriel, visited one of the military positions. In a modest prayer room, where the closeness of Heaven is especially felt, a prayer service was held for the Orthodox army.

They prayed for the health and strengthening of the spirit of the soldiers, for giving them courage and God's help in carrying out difficult service. The priest reminded that the transfiguration is not only an event in evangelical history, but also the path of every Christian: through work, patience and faith, a person gains strength and inner Light that does not fade even in the midst of trials.
At the end of the prayer service, the priest congratulated the soldiers on the holiday, sprinkled them with holy water and handed each a small icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, so that the image of the Patroness of the Christian family would be near at any moment. Such meetings remind us that even in the harshest conditions, prayer warms the heart and gives strength to move forward.
