On August 23, 2026, the 12th Week after Pentecost, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia performed the rite of the great consecration of the church of the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky in the village of Knyazhye Ozero, Moscow region. Then the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.
His Holiness consecrated three altars: the central one in honor of the Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, the right one in honor of the Korsun Icon of the Mother of God, and the left one in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.
His Holiness was concelebrated by the bishops and clergy of the Moscow Metropolia and the city of Moscow. Representatives of state authorities, benefactors, builders and beautifiers of the temple, as well as numerous parishioners prayed during the service.
Special petitions were offered at the special litany, after which His Holiness Patriarch Kirill read a prayer for Holy Russia. During the Liturgy, the Primate performed the presbyterian ordination of Deacon Alexander Petreikin, a cleric of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "The Sign" in Kuntsevo.
At the end of the service, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the audience with a Primatial address and handed over the icon of St. Sava Storozhevsky to the temple. Benefactors and construction participants were awarded church awards.
The Orthodox community in the village of Knyazhye Ozero was registered in 2002. In 2005, the foundation stone of the future church was consecrated, and in 2009, its minor consecration and the first Divine Liturgy were celebrated. In the same year, the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Hodegetria" was transferred from the funds of the State Russian Museum to the temple.
