In the city of Baymak, a ceremony was held to lay a memorial plaque on a stone at the construction site of a new church.
A solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone at the construction site of a new Orthodox church took place in Baymak. The event was attended by the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov.
Bishop Spyridon, the governor of the Diocese of Birsk, recalled the history of the local parish: it was founded in 1995, and a year later the city authorities handed over the building of the former museum to the faithful for worship. Since the end of 2021, the duties of the rector have been performed by Priest Roman Sedov.
The current Vvedensky Temple, located in a wooden building built in 1947, was completely renovated in 2010 by local enterprises. During the work, gas and water supply was carried out, water heating was installed, the roof, dome and cross were replaced, and the facade was lined with siding.
Despite the renovation, the church, which remains an important spiritual center, does not accommodate everyone during major holidays and Sunday services. The new building, which is scheduled to be completed within five years, will solve the problem of lack of space and will accommodate a Sunday school.
During the visit, Radiy Khabirov talked with the residents, who expressed gratitude for the positive transformations and the creation of comfortable public spaces in the city.
