Orthodox Book Day is not just another date on the calendar. It is a symbol of a spiritual bond that runs through the ages, a reminder of the importance of the spiritual heritage transmitted through books.  
In the kindergarten "Raduga" in the city of Mariinsky Posad, as part of the event dedicated to the Orthodox Book Day, a meeting of the teaching staff took place with the rector of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Kazan" Archpriest George Cherashkin.
Father George told the audience about the great event of the beginning of book printing in Russia, which ushered in a new era of spreading knowledge and culture.   Printing has become a powerful tool for enlightenment and progress, laying the foundations for further success of Russian culture. In addition, Father George presented Orthodox books to the teachers, telling about good and evil, about man's faith in God and how this faith helps to overcome difficulties. These works not only educate the soul, but also inspire good deeds, help to form the right life values.
The teachers expressed their sincere gratitude to Father George for the fascinating and informative conversation. Such meetings promote the spiritual growth and personal development of kindergarten staff, remind them of the importance of reading and raising children based on spiritual values.
