On October 28, military clergy training camps were held at a specialized training ground in Mozhaysk, Moscow Region. The clergy got acquainted with the domestic system for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles "Nabat V.3" and were trained in actions in case of air danger.
The training sessions were organized jointly with the Center for Unmanned Systems and Technologies with the blessing of Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.
Clerics and the community of the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky at MGIMO, headed by rector Archpriest Igor Fomin, participated in the development of the complex. The system was developed by Deacon Nikolai Melnichuk. The project is aimed at saving the lives of military personnel and civilians with the help of non-lethal means of protection.
The first deputy chairman of the Synodal Department, Archpriest Konstantin Tatarintsev, noted that the timely detection of drones allows for additional time to take protective measures and rescue people.
The program included a presentation and field tests of the complex, demonstration flights of unmanned vehicles and practical exercises under the guidance of instructors. The participants mastered the means of detecting aerial threats and practiced the procedure for dealing with them.
According to information provided at the training camp, more than 10,000 such devices were transferred to the special military operation zone. They are used by military units and clergy; complexes are also used to protect civilians.
As a result of the meeting, general methodological approaches were developed for further training of military clergy for actions in conditions of air danger.
