On September 29, the opening of the spiritual and educational youth cluster "Startup of the Spirit" took place in Samara. The new space, located at 86 Sadovaya Street, was consecrated by Metropolitan Theodosius of Samara and Novokuibyshev. The ceremony was attended by clergy, government officials, educational institutions and public organizations.
The cluster was created with the blessing of Metropolitan Theodosius. The initiator was Abbess of the Pokrovsky Alexander-Chagrin convent Abbess Mikhail (Solodukhina). The project is being implemented by the NGO Center for Socially Significant Projects Potentials with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
The Startup of the Spirit is intended primarily for young people aged 16 to 25 from Samara and other settlements of the region. It is planned to hold educational meetings, discussions, workshops and creative activities here, and help young people develop their own social and cultural projects. Special attention will be paid to an open conversation about faith and the Church, the meaning of life, responsibility, service to the Fatherland and the preservation of cultural memory.
Themed spaces are provided for visitors.: "Blacksmithing craft", "ART space", "Interactive history", "Attic" and "Location of Meanings". After the opening ceremony, the guests got to know them and discussed the center's plans for cooperation with educational institutions and youth organizations.
On the same day, a round table dedicated to the church mission among young people was held. The meeting was attended by Acting Chairman of the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs Hieromonk Filaret (Zubov), Deputy head of the Synodal Missionary Department Priest Anthony Kosykh, heads of diocesan departments and clergy of the Archdiocese of Samara. The participants emphasized the importance of personal communication, mentoring and constant support of youth communities. The need to involve young people in the development and implementation of church and community initiatives was also discussed.
The building of the new center is connected with the history of the Samara diocese: from 1986 to 2005, the diocesan administration was located here, and Metropolitan John (Snychev) worked there. Today, a space is being created within these walls for communication, enlightenment and spiritual development of the younger generation.
