During another trip to the free zone with humanitarian aid, the head of the Yuryevets charitable foundation "This is my Homeland" Andrey Gorshkov met with the regimental priest Father Maxim, who asked for help in organizing a dugout church. Many guys from the Ivanovo region serve in this unit: Shuya, Teikov, Furmanov and Kineshma.

The St. George's Fellowship joined the work, contacted the abbots of churches in Puchezh and Yuryevetsky district. Everyone responded. The Puchezh deanery donated vestments, icons and candles, lamp oil, and icons from the Yuryevetsky deanery will be sent to its area, including the icon of Blessed Alexy of Elnath, which is especially revered in the village, vestments and wine for divine services, armrests for the iconostasis, and an image of the icon of the Annunciation for the royal gates.

The priests recorded a video message for Father Maxim, where they reinforced his sincere desire to be a spiritual mentor and caregiver for the children. He has been serving as a regimental priest since 2022.

The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.
