On the memorial day of Saints Cyril and Mary of Radonezh, October 11, 2026, the church of Equal—to-the-Apostles Constantine and Elena in Mitin celebrated a small patronal feast - the southern chapel of the church was consecrated in the name of the saints.
At the end of the late Liturgy, which was led by the rector of the parish, Priest Maxim Pavlenko, a procession took place. During his stop at the church of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, seven domed crosses were consecrated.
One of the crosses was placed on the dome immediately after the consecration, the rest were raised and installed during the day.
Restoration work in the church of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God began in July this year. In addition to installing new crosses, during the renovation it is planned to completely overlap the roof, replace the collapsing logs at the base of the temple, eliminate heat leaks and scale all logs with subsequent impregnation.

The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.

Exactly 50 years ago, on March 13, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the rite of nomination took place; and on the following day, March 14, the First Sunday of Great Lent, the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Leningrad, the episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Kirill — the future Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ — was performed. The service was presided over by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), whom His Holiness Patriarch Kirill calls his spiritual mentor and teacher.
