1Thes. 2:14-19; Lk. 11:23-26
“He that is not with Me is against Me: and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth”[Lk. 11:23]. It turns out that we could work through our whole life, assuming that a lot of assets have been gathered, and all that would be to no avail if we did not gather with the Lord.
So, what does it mean to gather with the Lord? It means to labor, navigating your life course by the faith in the Lord, by His commandments, with the help of His Divine Grace, with the inspiration of His promises, ─ in a word, to live a life filled with the spirit of Christ.
There are two realms to choose from: good or evil, truth or lie. Only good and truth can make up real assets, durable and valuable; and the only source of good and truth is God Himself. Moreover, they can be procured only in co-operation with God. Obviously, if you do not gather with the Lord, you cannot gather real assets of good and truth; whereas accumulating any other sort of possessions is total loss of time and effort.
