What's so terrible if I say I'm late because of traffic, not because I left home late? Who does it harm?

Or, for example, if I say I didn't congratulate my friend on their birthday because I had an important event yesterday, when in reality, I just forgot?

A little lie. A minor adjustment to the situation. A small tweak in the description of life...

Yes, adjustment. When I reached the word "Adjustment" in this dialogue with my conscience, I felt a slight chill. Adjusting the life that God wrote like a script.

But my amendments are so small! So insignificant! Tiny. Yet a speck on the canvas of an artist can obscure an important stroke. A speck in a shoe can cause a painful blister. And only God knows how reality will be distorted for others because of my tiny lie.

The people around me have the right to live in God's reality, not mine.

And even when we hide the truth about a relative's serious illness from them, for their peace of mind, thinking we're acting for the best, we take on the responsibility of depriving the sick person of the right to God's truth and God's script for their life.

And here lies the question of our responsibility. Situations vary.

But when it comes to lying about trivial matters, the question arises: "Why?"

To tell it like it is sometimes means creating problems for ourselves. But aren't they created by the fact itself, rather than acknowledging it?

I was late. Or I forgot. This has already happened in God's world.

Is it really worth arguing with God for the sake of our convenience?

No. For me - no. Yes, it's very difficult - to speak only the truth, to take responsibility. But I'd rather ask for God's mercy when I suffer the consequences of my mistakes, than, by my own decision, divert the tracks of my life in the wrong direction. Just a few degrees off course. But those are the tracks. And the train follows them. Where will it go when it veers off the path laid by God?

It's better to take the narrow path, difficult but God's. Lord, help me!
