The Antiochian Orthodox Church has unveiled a new digital initiative, The Antioch Range, the first comprehensive interactive map designed to showcase the global presence of the Antiochian Patriarchate.
The project was launched to mark the Feast of the Holy Apostolic See of Antioch and was introduced with the blessing of Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East.
According to the Church, the new platform will serve as a centralized reference resource, providing an overview of the geographical footprint of the Antiochian Orthodox Church worldwide. The interactive map will include information on dioceses, deaneries, parishes, and church institutions operating under the Patriarchate's jurisdiction across multiple countries.
Church officials said the first version of the platform already contains more than 85% of the required data. The database will be continuously updated as dioceses and parishes submit new information, ultimately creating a constantly evolving digital registry reflecting the current state of the Antiochian Church around the world.
Organizers described the initiative as both practical and symbolic. In addition to helping users locate Antiochian Orthodox communities and institutions, the project is intended to highlight the global reach of the Patriarchate, whose history dates back to the apostolic era. According to the Book of Acts, it was in Antioch that the followers of Jesus Christ were first called Christians.
The Patriarchate also invited dioceses and parishes to contribute to the project by submitting updated information through dedicated communication channels, including WhatsApp, ensuring that the digital map remains accurate and comprehensive.
