The 35th anniversary of the city Cossack society was celebrated in Zheleznovodsk. The celebration began with the reporting circle of the Stavropol District Cossack Society. The clergy of the Pyatigorsk diocese, Archpriest Andrei Bondarchuk and Archpriest Pavel Velikorodny, took part in it.
After the circle, the celebration continued in the village of Inozemtsevo. The fifth stage of the competition among the Cossack societies of the Stavropol district Cossack Society of the Tersk Military Cossack Society "We were, are and will be!" — "Cossack Shermiti" took place here.
Archpriest Stefan Feshchenko, head of the diocesan Department for Cooperation with the Cossacks, addressed the participants. He congratulated the Cossacks on the 35th anniversary of the society and conveyed the blessing of Archbishop Theophylact of Pyatigorsk and Cherkessk.
A special part of the holiday was the traditional ceremony of putting a boy on a horse. This ancient Cossack custom symbolizes the child's initiation into the Cossack tradition.
The holiday united Cossacks of different generations and their families. The participants congratulated each other on the anniversary and wished the Zheleznovodsk City Cossack Society further development and God's help in serving the Fatherland.
