Currently, in accordance with the permission of the Department of Cultural Heritage of the City of Moscow, restoration work is continuing on the facades of the northern and southern chapels of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Butyrskaya Streletskaya Sloboda. While the craftsmen are working on the revival of the ancient shrine, divine services are held in the bell tower, consecrated in honor of the blessed Prince Dimitri Donskoy.
At the expense of the benefactors and the parish, the historical volume of the temple is being restored, the structures and interstory floors of the former factory, which divided the temple into two parts in Soviet times, are being dismantled. The temple and its bell tower were on opposite sides of a huge factory building.
An application has been sent to the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the allocation of phased financing for strengthening the building structures and other restoration work in the interior of the temple.
Since 2007, emergency work has been carried out in the church by the parish and benefactors, as well as thanks to funding under the state program "Culture of Russia", factory outbuildings have been dismantled, facades have been restored, chapels and crosses have been restored.
