The spiritual care of military personnel undergoing treatment in a medical company in the Donetsk People's Republic continues, which the Orel Diocese has been carrying out jointly with the Kaliningrad Diocese since the beginning of this year.
This time, with the blessing of Metropolitan Tikhon of Oryol and Bolkhov, Priest Maxim Yereskin, the sacristan of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Oryol, arrived at the unit on a short-term business trip. For two weeks, Father Maxim will conduct individual conversations with military personnel, perform Liturgies, prayer services and memorial services, and read akathists.
The arrival of the priest was greeted with undisguised joy by the medical staff and military personnel. The opportunity to turn to the priest, receive spiritual support and pray together is very important for those who are undergoing treatment away from home.
Father Maxim also delivered to the medical company the aid collected by the parishes of the Orel diocese. Among the items transferred: a generator, an ultraviolet irradiator, an electric stove, medical supplies, medicines and food.
