On the 8th Week after Pentecost, the day of remembrance of the Holy Fathers of the six Ecumenical Councils, the feast of the Cathedral of the Archangel Gabriel, on July 26, 2026, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the rite of the great consecration of the church of the Prophet Daniel on Kantemirovskaya in Moscow and the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill consecrated the central altar of the church. 20 antimins were also consecrated.
At the end of the Liturgy, the rector of the newly consecrated church, Priest John Popadinets, welcomed the Primate, emphasizing that the construction of the church was made possible thanks to the support and assistance of His Holiness.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the participants of the divine service with a Primatial address. As a gift to the newly consecrated church, the Primate gave an icon of St. Luke of the Crimea (Voino-Yasenetsky).  
Then the presentation of church awards took place in recognition of the assistance in the construction of the church of the Prophet Daniel on Kantemirovskaya Street in Moscow 
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill congratulated the faithful on a solemn and historic day for the parish and expressed gratitude to all those who contribute to the revival of church life in the capital.
"I would like to thank everyone who makes a remarkable contribution to the revival of our Church in the holy city of Moscow, which has gone through difficult years of godless trials, and is now marked by unprecedented temple construction in history. As I said, nothing like this happens anywhere on our planet. We're not proud, but we're just happy. God bless you all!" His Holiness Patriarch Kirill concluded.

In the autumn of 2003, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia, the parish of the Prophet Daniel was established on Kantemirovskaya Street in Moscow. Priest Daniel Sysoev was appointed rector. In November of the same year, the parish received state registration.
In 2005, at the request of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy, the parish was allocated a plot of land in the Moskvorechye-Saburovo area, at the intersection of Proletarsky Avenue and projected passage No. 6216.
In the summer of 2006, a small temporary wooden church in honor of the Apostle Thomas was built on the allocated site, and utensils and icons were purchased. On November 11, 2006, the dean of the Danilovsky district, Archpriest Gennady Borozdin, performed the rite of minor consecration of the temporary church, from that moment the liturgical life of the parish began.
After the murder of Priest Daniil Sysoev, a full-time cleric of the parish, Priest John Popadinets, was appointed acting rector. In 2011, he was confirmed as rector of the church.
In 2013, the Moskvorechye-Saburovo district council held public hearings on the construction of the main temple. A project developed by Alt-Project LLC was submitted for approval. Residents of the area unanimously supported the construction of the temple.
Construction work began in August 2016 and was carried out by the parish until 2023. 
The first rector of the parish, Priest Daniel Sysoev, conducted active missionary and educational activities, which continue to this day. The Orthodox Missionary School has acquired the status of a vicariate missionary school.
The parish is the center of the Southern Vicariate for the reception of people who have fallen away from Orthodoxy. Every week, the church hosts an initial reception for people who want to return to the Orthodox Church.
