From December 3 to 5, 2025, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, visited Tunis to participate in the XXXI International Conference "The End of Globalism and the Future of the World - Meanings and Values of the Coming Era", organized by the International Foundation for the Spiritual Unity of Peoples. The forum was held in the Tunisian capital on December 3-4.
The event was led by the President of the Foundation, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Faculty of Philosophy at Lomonosov Moscow State University, V.A. Alekseev, and Metropolitan Konstantin. Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Serbia Jovan Janic attended the conference as an honorary guest.
Metropolitan Konstantin read out the greetings of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, and delivered a message.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches, as well as the clergy of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, the Middle East and Hungary, deputies of national parliaments, public and political figures, scientists and publicists.
Dozens of reports were presented during the two days of the conference. The participants noted the high importance of events aimed at strengthening the historical, cultural and spiritual unity of peoples, promoting moral and family values, educating young people and developing humanitarian cooperation.
During the trip, the participants also visited the ruins of ancient Carthage, one of the main attractions of Tunis.
The International Foundation for the Spiritual Unity of Nations was established in April 1995 with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia. The Foundation was established and operates in order to strengthen the bonds of spiritual brotherhood of peoples professing Orthodoxy, consolidate and intensify the efforts of the international Christian community in cultural, spiritual and social cooperation.
