On August 21-23, representatives of the Orthodox youth activist of the Perm Diocese, together with the diocesan Sobriety community at the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Perm and the Fraternal Corps youth organization, took part in a rafting trip along the Usva River in the Gornozavodsky district of the Perm Territory.
24 people took part in the rafting, who traveled on two catamarans, two kayaks and four packrafts (type of kayak). The youngest participant of the rafting was 11-year-old Ignat Volegov.
In three days, the participants of the rafting covered a distance of 38 kilometers, faced the challenges of weather conditions: thick fog and prolonged rain. But thanks to the solidarity and support of each other, all the difficulties were overcome.
Rafting is a responsible event that fosters willpower and hardens character. In the context of working with the younger generation, youth and people suffering from addictions, active tourism is a good means of fostering moral qualities and love for one's neighbor.

March 14, 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the episcopal consecration of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. This is not merely a personal jubilee, but a date of profound significance for the fullness of the Church as a whole, because episcopal consecration is the moment of assuming a special responsibility for the people of God and a witness to the Church’s fidelity to apostolic succession. The calling of the future Primate to episcopal ministry was formally established by a resolution of the Holy Synod in early March 1976; on the eve of the consecration, the rite of nomination took place, and on March 14—on the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy—at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad theological schools, was consecrated Bishop of Vyborg.

By the decision of His Holiness Patriarch Pimen and the Holy Synod of March 3, 1976, Archimandrite Kirill (Gundyaev), rector of the Leningrad Theological Academy and Seminary, was elected Bishop of Vyborg, vicar of the Leningrad Diocese.

Exactly 50 years ago, on March 13, 1976, at the Church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Leningrad Theological Academy, the rite of nomination took place; and on the following day, March 14, the First Sunday of Great Lent, the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, during the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Leningrad, the episcopal consecration of Archimandrite Kirill — the future Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ — was performed. The service was presided over by the ever-memorable Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov), whom His Holiness Patriarch Kirill calls his spiritual mentor and teacher.
