The Charity – Kazan Service for those in need of the Kazan Diocese organized a children's and adolescent expedition "Returning, we create." The project took place from 22 to 26 August in the village of Maksimov Pochinok (Mamadyshsky district of Tatarstan). There is a stone church of the Ascension of the Lord in this village, which is undergoing restoration work. Children and teenagers have made every possible contribution to the restoration of the shrine, worked hard in the ancient church, got acquainted with the spiritual heritage of our Motherland.
Veterans of the special military operation and their families were involved in the organization of the tent departure. The adult participants actively interacted with the children, helped them set up their daily lives, and set an example of work and prayer.
"The main event of the trip was the night Divine Liturgy. It is difficult to describe in words what the participants of the service experienced. In the silence of the night, the connection of the times was felt in a special way. Centuries ago, prayer was constantly heard within these walls. It still sounds right now. The temple has not yet been restored, but it is already coming back to life, breathing prayer," Mercy – Kazan said.
As part of the trip, military-patriotic training classes, a military sports game with obstacle courses and other team challenges were organized.
"The children and veterans of their military passed the tests together. The guys adopted the experience of those who defended our Fatherland. And the veterans, participating in the upbringing of children, supported them, felt that their presence and their experience were very important," the organizers added.
 The expedition was organized with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
