A crisis apartment will be opened at the Save a Life center for families with children in Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo Region. It will be able to accommodate families with children in difficult situations, families of graduates of orphanages, as well as single pregnant women. The project of the center "Save a Life" became one of the winners of the grant competition for church social initiatives of the Synodal Department for Charity.
The apartment can accommodate 2 families at the same time. The center's specialists are already providing psychological, legal, and social support to parents and children, in particular, they provide food, clothing, and targeted assistance.
The funds allocated by the Synodal Department for Charity were used to renovate the premises provided to the center by the local administration.
"All our efforts are aimed at preserving a blood—based family: we want children not to be separated from their parents and not end up in orphanages," said Evgeny Udartsev, director of the Save a Life center for families with children. "We launched this project to help families who have been left without funds, as well as families of graduates of orphanages who are often not adapted to independent living and raising their own children."
The Save a Life Center for Families with Children has been operating since 2019. The center's staff supports pregnant women, large and low-income families with children in difficult situations. Thus, more than 250 children were born thanks to the center's help, and 15 children have returned to their families since 2024.
