The participants of the event were welcomed by the artistic director of the Kuban Cossack Choir, the president of the festival Viktor Zakharchenko.
– We are going to the Orthodox Film Festival for the 26th time. The time is difficult now, so such meetings are especially important. The mission of our festival is to help people come to faith. The films that will be shown are also designed to strengthen the spirit and help the country win," Viktor Zakharchenko said in his welcoming speech.
This year, more than 150 applications have been received for participation in the festival from Russia, Belarus, Greece, Serbia and Republika Srpska.
The festival was opened by the documentary film of 2024 "Donbass. The front line. Cossacks." The film was presented by its author Valery Timoshchenko, president of the Krasnodar Film Studio named after Nikolai Minervin.
A total of 34 films will be shown. The festival will run until November 15th. Admission is free.
The Veche Bell is held jointly with the Kuban Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnodar Territory.
