On August 19, 2026, the Lyadensky Monastery of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary hosted for the first time the spiritual festival "Adrajenne" ("Rebirth"), dedicated to the revival of traditions and history of the Smolevichi region.
The festival was held with the blessing of Bishop Ambrose of Borisov and Maryinogorsk. The organizers were the Smolevichi District Executive Committee, the Borisov Diocese and the Lyadensky Monastery.
The date of the festival is connected with the history of the monastery's revival. On August 19, 1994, on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the Annunciation Church of the newly opened monastery, which was led by the then vicar of the monastery, Archimandrite Sophrony (Yushchuk), now Archbishop of Mogilev and Mstislavsky.
The festive day began with the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Annunciation, which was celebrated by Bishop Ambrose of Borisov and Maryogorsk, co-served by the clergy of the Borisov diocese and the brethren of the monastery. At the end of the service, the archpastor consecrated the fruits of the new harvest and addressed the audience with a word of edification.
Then the grand opening of the festival took place. The archpastor expressed the hope that the festival would become a good tradition, uniting the desire for spiritual transformation and communion with beauty.
An exhibition and fair of folk craftsmen "Yablochny Spas" was held on the territory of the monastery. Artisans from different districts of the Minsk region presented their works. The guests could see and purchase carved icons, wood and ceramic products, embroidery, straw and natural stone works, woven products and other examples of traditional folk art. Natural honey, care cosmetics and handmade jewelry were presented on a separate site of the St. Xenia Convent.
One of the parts of the festival program was the exhibition of artworks "Light of Transfiguration". Students of Smolevichi and Ozeritsko-Sloboda children's art schools also presented their works. The expositions reflect Orthodox churches and other monuments of historical and cultural heritage of Belarus, the theme of peace and native land.
The central regional library named after Maxim Bogdanovich organized a separate venue at the festival. The book exhibition "Spiritual Wisdom of the Living Word" was held here, the local history project "Shrines and Pastors of the Smolevichi land" and the electronic "Spiritual Map of the Smolevichi Region" developed by the library were presented.
The central musical event of the festival was the sacred music concert "Voices of Heaven", held in the Annunciation Church.
The tradition of holding fairs in Lyady has deep historical roots. Back in the 18th century, at the request and assistance of the Zavish family, annual fairs were established here on the days of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Nativity of St. John the Baptist.
