On May 25, the ninth event of the School of Social Service, a joint series of meetings between the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service and the Tabor Cultural Center, took place. The meeting was led by Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Charity. Alexander Rodin, Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences, commander of the special purpose group of the LizaAlert search and rescue movement, was a guest. At the meeting, the organization of searches for missing people was discussed.
"Everyone can help, this is not the way of special people. It's like in life — everyone has different professions and abilities, and you can serve your neighbors in different ways. You can help with words and attention to a person. Mercy and compassion are accessible feelings for everyone," said Archpriest Mikhail Potokin.
During the meeting, Alexander Rodin talked about how he began to participate in the search for missing people, what the LizyAlert special forces group was doing, shared his personal experience and answered questions from the audience.
The event participants also discussed the relationship between physics and faith in God, and noted the role of physics skills in human life.
