On June 6, 2026, the day of the celebration of Pentecost, Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rila led the great consecration and Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Church, erected in the new Atomgrad neighborhood of Kurchatov, Kursk region.
After the consecration of the throne, a procession was held with fragments of the relics of the holy martyrs. According to the ancient custom, they rely on the foundation of thrones in temples, since the Church of God is established by their martyr's blood, suffering, and faith in Christ. At the end of the procession, Metropolitan Herman led the Divine Liturgy. Liturgical hymns were performed by the bishop's choir under the direction of Priest Alexy Fesenko and the choir of the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov and All Saints who Shone Forth in the land of Kursk, Kurchatov.
The construction and consecration of the majestic Holy Trinity Church, which can accommodate about 600 people, was an important event for the residents of not only Atomgrad, but also the entire Kursk region. This is one of the largest churches built in the Kursk Archdiocese.
At the end of the Liturgy, the head of the archdiocese congratulated all the worshippers on an important and joyful event and thanked everyone who took part in the construction of the church, presenting the builders, donors and diligent workers with Patriarchal awards, diocesan medals and diplomas.
Vladyka Herman wished them God's help and blessed success and gave his archpastoral blessing to all those who attended the spiritual celebration, presenting each with an icon of the Holy Trinity in memory of the consecration of the temple.

The construction of the church in honor of the Holy Trinity in the city of nuclear scientists began at the end of 2021 on the initiative of the director (at that time) Kursk NPP by V.A. Fedyukin. He dreamed that Atomgrad, a young, energetic district of Kurchatov, would have its own temple within walking distance.
All the work on the construction of the temple was carried out with the blessing of Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rila with charitable funds from the Rosenergoatom concern.
On August 1, 2022, the head of the archdiocese consecrated the foundation stone of the future church. Archpriest Nikolai Goenko was appointed rector of the church under construction. He donated the icon of the Trinity and from that moment began to conduct divine services — first on the territory of the temple in the open air, then in the basement, and after completion of construction in the central part of the temple.
Kursk Icon Painting Workshop in the name of St. Peter the Great. Andrei Rublev painted 40 icons for the church, all of them made in the Moscow tradition of the XIV-XVI centuries.
On November 23, 2023, Metropolitan Herman consecrated the bells and crosses on the domes for the church. The majestic iconostasis for the temple was made in the workshop of the Holy Trinity Brotherhood in Shchigry.
A church shop has been built on the temple grounds and the construction of a church house is continuing, which will house a Sunday school and a spiritual and educational center.
The Holy Trinity Church, designed to receive about 600 parishioners, opens a new page in the spiritual life of the Kursk Archdiocese. Its construction, which has become one of the largest in the region, testifies to the revival of Orthodox traditions and the desire to strengthen the spiritual foundations of society. Now the residents of Atomgrad and the surrounding settlements have found a place where they can find solace, spiritual support and the opportunity to pray together. This temple will become not only a place of worship, but also a center of public life, where educational events, meetings and other events aimed at strengthening the community and educating the younger generation in the spirit of Christian values will be held.
