On the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, on September 27, with the blessing of DECR Chairman Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk and Patriarchal Exarch of Africa Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, DECR Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov) celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the Russian-speaking faithful of the city of Addis Ababa.

The service took place at the Russian Center for Science and Culture (Russian House), located in the capital of Ethiopia. 

The Combined Choir of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra and the Moscow Theological Academy, led by Hieromonk Nestor (Volkov), sang at the liturgy.

Abbess of the Martha and Mary Convent of Mercy in Moscow, Abbess Elizabeth (Pozdnyakova), employees of the Russian Embassy in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the leadership of the Russian House, representatives of the Russian-speaking diaspora of Addis Ababa prayed at the service. Many have received communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
